Story Deconstructions

Structure-v2Story deconstructions as in movies. I’m not going to deconstruct books — at least not many. Movies are easier, and I’m inherently lazy.

I will be posting (and linking to this page) break downs of movies of all genres and periods (from the 1950s to now) and pointing out how the story teller has implemented the structure I talk about here.

I’m going to start with “Attack the Block”, John Boyega’s first movie. You may know him now as FN-2187 in that little indie flick “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. I understand he’ll also be in the sequel, “Star Wars: The Force Goes Back to Bed”, but it’s just rumour right now.

I’ll follow up with (in no particular order)

  • Witness
  • Hanna
  • Liar, Liar
  • Pitch Perfect
  • Matilda
  • Despicable Me

…and any others you may request, from time to time. I might throw in a book or two, also.

Stay tuned, and let me know what else you might like to see.
